From the banks of the Potomac

We're enjoying our family vacation in the Virginia/Maryland/Washington DC area...packing in a lot of sightseeing and outdoor activities and enjoying the respite from the Texas heat. Tomorrow will be the trip to the museums and Library of Congress and the following day we'll rest up for our departure on Friday. Fortunately I've convinced John that driving straight through doesn't suit our family so we'll stop a couple of nights along the way and enjoy the road a little more than we did on the trip east!
How blessed we've been to enjoy some lazy days visiting with ALL of our children and grandchildren and reflecting on the treasure we have in our family. And it doesn't hurt that it's been in such a beautiful place, dressed in much more green than we see in our part of the country. Wish we could pack the scenery in our suitcases!

So sad to wave goodbye this morning...we miss you all already. But we thank God for the days we had.
